SKIN TAGS

What are Skin Tags?
Skin tags or fibroepithelial polyps are benign (non-cancerous growths) often found on the neck, armpits and groin area. They are flesh-coloured growths that protrude from the surface of the skin. Skin tags are very common and generally harmless. They can become irritated and itchy, however in most cases, people generally dislike their cosmetic appearance so seek skin tag removal.

The Procedure
The procedure is quick and recovery time is minimal. After a thorough medical consultation, our doctors will apply local anaesthetic to the removal area. The clinician will use a snip excision technique to cut the skin tag off from the base and use a electrocautery machine to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.

Aftercare
The doctor will apply an antibiotic cream and a dressing to the wound area, which you will need to leave on for 24 hours post surgery. After 24 hours, you can remove the dressing and resume normal daily activities.
