SEBORRHOEIC KERATOSIS

What Is Seborrhoeic Keratosis?
Seborrhoeic keratosis are benign (non-cancerous) growths that are often found on the face, chest and back. They feel warty and rough to touch and can become irritated. The growths often appear as brown, black or light patches and protrude from the surface of the skin.

The Procedure
Depending on the number of lesions being removed, the procedure is generally quick with minimal recovery time. After a thorough medical consultation, the doctor will inject local anaesthetic into the skin to numb the area. The clinician will use the shave excision technique to shave the lesion down to the skin surface and use a electrocautery machine to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.

Please note that all lesions removed by ESS Clinic are sent to an external laboratory for histopathological analysis.

Aftercare
The doctor will apply an antibiotic cream and dressing to the wound area which you will need to leave on for 24 hours post surgery. After 24 hours, you can remove the dressing and resume normal daily activities.
